The Gallery Cabaret has been operating in Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood since 1988. According to owner, Ken Strandberg, the Gallery Cabaret harkens back to a time when “you could walk into a joint, buy a drink, and enjoy live entertainment like comedy or music just for being there and being a patron.” The Gallery has offered free entertainment 7 nites per week since it opened. Over time, many up and comers have graced the stage, like The Smashing Pumpkins, Urge Overkill, Material Issue and Liz Phair (while they were still up and comers!). The Gallery has also hosted numerous comedy acts and poetry readings and slams. Every month, local artists have their work on display at the Gallery. Currently, we also offer cable TV including your favorite sports, until prior to showtime. We also have Golden Tee Golf.

It has become a home for just about every walk of life. From techy business types to hippie, punk, aspiring artist, uniquely strange, but interesting, persons you can find in the great city of Bucktown and greater Chicago!
An Art Gallery
What makes the Gallery Cabaret most unique is that it is a niteclub and an Art Gallery rolled up into one. It is a great place to start your exhibition careers, earn a reputation and sell a few choice pieces of art. For more info on exhibitions, contact Kenny 773-489-5471.
